Mercy Mounthawk students launching the Irish-themed fashion show which takes place on December 1.

STUDENTS at Mercy Mounthawk are gearing up for their annual fashion show and they’re planning something special this year.

The secondary school’s Transition Year event will commence Thursday, December 1 and this year’s show has a theme of ‘All Things Irish’.

With it being the centenary of the 1916 rising, it seems the perfect time for this theme. The fashion show is not only modelling but also showcasing the talents they have to offer, ensuring a fun filled, entertaining night.

The transition year students and fashion show committees have been working tirelessly and have put in countless hours in the lead up to the fashion show so we hope you can all make it.

“A percentage of the money made will be going to Tír Na Nóg, Tralee Responders and Kerry Assistant Dogs as these charities are all close to our hearts,” read a press release from the students.

The chairpersons Adam Butler & Niamh McMahon stated that; “The work is amazing from committees to students making their costumes.’ ‘It is going to be a fantastic night with some great entertainment & we are delighted to be giving our profits to some charities close to our years heart.”

“Preparations at this stage are well underway with everyone putting their shoulder to the wheel, to ensure that the night itself will be a resounding success”.

Tickets are available from Transition Year students for €10, the show is on in the Mercy Mounthawk Gym at 8pm on December 1.
