Na Gaeil Ladies    Na Gaeil v Inbhear Sceine Gaels, Ladies Intermediate Championship Final. We played in Killarney on Sunday against ISG Kenmare in the final after two hard games against Corca Dhuibhne and Beaufort. We came into this game well prepared.

After a nervous first ten minutes and with the game scoreless, Meagan Sheehy settled us down with two well taken frees. We started to take control of the game with Meabh playing Megan O’ Connor for her goal.

ISG scored a point but Ayesha and Jadyn scored a point apiece before Clodagh McHugh and Ayesha scored a goal each to take us in at half time with a lead of 3.04 to 0.01. ISG did try and break through us at the start of the 2nd half but our defence lead by Deirdre and Captain Susan was formidable.

Sarah Quigley and Kate Anne were stopping any runs coming in from the wings. ISG were also struggling with runs from Brid and Eilis and with Nora and Mary covering and controlling midfield.

With Ayesha scoring two more points, and a goal from Jadyn, we were in total control of the game. Megan scored her 2nd after another great pass from Meabh. Carla and Mags came into the team with fresh legs and both were unlucky not to score. Sarah Barrett and Clodagh O’Connor came into defence with Erika coming into the forwards to score a point.

Meagan and Ayesha finished off the game with a point apiece to give us a scoreline of 5.10 to 0.02. ISG played well but our defensive play on the day was outstanding as we gave them no time on the ball. We can now look forward to a Munster Semi Final and we still have a Div 1 County League Semi Final and the Mary Jo Curran A Final to be played.
