Na GaeilNA GAEIL JUNIORS: Our juniors played Clounmacon last Friday in the McElligott cup semi-final.

It was a perfect night for football and both teams served up an exhibition of top quality football , a total of 30 points scored between the teams, some of which would grace Croke Park kept the large crowd on edge throughout.

We went in at half time up by 4 points having played with a slight breeze in the first half. As expected Clounmacon came out firing with the breeze and the second half and had levelled with 10 mins gone.

Things looked bad for Na Gaeil when we lost a man and went a point down. However the resolve and work of our players showed that they are never beaten and they levelled again.

The last 15 minutes were score for score and it was level going into injury time and our lads found the energy for one last attack and scored the winning point with seconds to go.

Final score Na Gaeil 2 17 Clounmacon 3 13.Well done lads!

NA GAEIL U12: Well done to all the players who played in both our games against Ardfert in the Central Region last Monday evening.

The competition continues Monday evening 7th September against Ballyheigue. Training continues Thursday evening at 6.30pm.

NA GAEIL U8: Our boys travelled to Fr. Caseys, Abbeyfeale last Sunday. We had 20 very enthuastic players all of whom played some part in the 2 games.

A big thank you to our hosts for the welcome refreshments afterwards. We will have training this Thursday evening (10th Sept.) at 6.30pm.

We may have another challenge game next Sunday. Watch out for a text later in the week. In the meantime remember that its so important to continue to practice your skills.

All players are reminded not to forget their mouth-guard when training & playing matches. New members are always welcome at Na Gaeil so come along and make new friends and enjoy the fun.

NA GAEIL U14: The girls are settling back into routine following the disruption of Summer!  The N. Kerry league has kicked off and we had our first match.

We played Ballymac away and were captained by Laoise, even though we had the majority of the possession our finishing left us down.

I have no doubt that training and practice won’t be long ironing this out!  The game finished  Ballymac 4 – 5 Na Gaeil 2 – 3.

All the girls played well, in particular Ria, Clodagh, Grainne and Mary who covered the pitch.  Special thanks to out U12 players Eimear, Ciara, Muire, Sarah, Megan and Freya who really add to the team and we would be lost without them.

We play Listowel at home on Wed 9th Sept where we hope to have a good support when we look for our first victory in the NK league.
