All Ireland Final Replay    We wish Jack Barry, Diarmuid O’Connor and the Kerry team and management the very best of luck in the All Ireland Final Replay in Croke Park on Saturday next. Another great day for our club.

Cahill Cup    Na Gaeil will play Churchill in the semi-final of the Cahill Cup on Friday September 13that 6.45pm. The game will be played at a neutral venue yet to be decided.

U14 St. Brendan’s Board Final    Na Gaeil played St. Pat’s Blennerville the week before last in the St. Brendan’;s Board U14 B Championship Final in Blennerville. The game was played in ideal conditions, although Na Gaeil played against the wind in the first half. Liam Cooper opened the scoring with an early goal and he followed this with two more points to get Na Gaeil off to a great start.

Sean Barrett kicked a lovely point from the left side to extend our lead and this was followed by a goal from Kian Sheehan. Points from Peter Doyle, Jack Costello and Liam Cooper were followed by a goal from Sean Barrett. Further points from Kian Sheehan and Conor Lucey ended our scoring for the half. Our backs had the measure of their opponents and kept St. Pat’s to one goal in the first half. The halftime score was Na Gaeil 3-8 to St. Pat’s 1-0.

Batty Coffey scored a goal early in the second half. And the result was never in doubt after that. With our midfielders of Rory Reen and Sean Barrett working tirelessly, added to the excellent covering of our halfbacks Shane Kelly, Seamus O’ Neill and Peter Doyle, we kept the pressure on St. Pat’s.

Excellent marking by our full back line of Kevin O’ Donoghue, Ruairí Ó hAiniféin and Cody O’ Shea made it difficult for St Pat’s to get a foothold in the game. Any goal chances were snuffed out by Paul Burke in goals.

We extended our lead with scores from Liam Cooper, Conor Lucey, Kian Sheehan and Dara Cunningham.

Indeed Dara scored 1-2 in the second half. Overall it was an excellent performance and all players can be proud of their display. Na Gaeil won the game with a score of 5-18 to 3-3. The captain, Shane Kelly collected the trophy on behalf of his team, and Jack Costello won the man-of-the-match award. Many thanks to St. Pat’s for a fine sporting game and for hosting this game.
