Na GaeilBEST WISHES:To Andrew Barry and all the Kerry team and management in the All Ireland finals. Bring it home Andrew!

NA GAEIL LADIES: We played away to Rathmore in the Div 1 semi final on Thursday night. Rain had threatened from the start but held for the 1st half. Rathmore started brightly getting a early point. Rathmore then worked it well together and got themselves a goal. On the resulting kick out Abi found Sarah who made a quick run up the line, passing it into Jadyn who gave it to Ciara to score a great goal.

At this stage we were on top with all possession with Jadyn getting another point but then we had to take Nessa out of midfield due to injury and Rathmore took full advantage while we were trying move players around and scored a few goals. It was half time before we were able to re-adjust the team properly.

Rathmore started the 2nd half brightly with a quick goal but then we settled on the backline and attacked Rathmore with more determination with Meagan making good runs and scoring 3 points and unlucky not to get another 2 goals.

Erika was winning some great ball on the half forward line and with some great running from Mary, she helped Jadyn score 1-02 with their keeper also made a great save from one of Jadyn’s free kicks.

Nora started bombing from midfield and scored 2 goals. Abi came into full forward, scoring a goal and their keeper making 2 more good saves from her. Caoimhe and Blaithnaid were unlucky not to get a couple of scores along with Emily and Caragh working hard in the forwards when they came on.

Isobelle came into the backs and was helping Aimee, Grainne, Clodagh and Dearbhla defend against Rathmore’s strong forwards. Muireann and Nora were winning midfield and driving us forward. We had it all from crossbars, uprights and with with some great saves from the Rathmore keeper.

But we ran out of time to get the scores we needed that we needed to reduce Rathmore’s half time lead due to our readjustment in around the backs and midfield after our injury. Our team played with great heart and soul from the start to the finish with not one player on the field giving up till the final whistle.

They can be proud of their accomplishment of getting to a Div 1 Semi Final with a very young team ( U13,U14,U15,U16) and will stand to them in years to come. Well Done to all.
Team: Clodagh O Connor, Grainne Early, Sarah Quigley, Mary O Connell, Nessa McGarty, Muireann Moriarty, Nora O Connell, Jadyn Lucey, Erika O Sullivan, Meagan Sheehy, Ciara Gaynor, Blaithnaid O Connor, Caoimhe Hanafin, Caragh O Neill, Abi Casey, Dearbhla Quirke, Isabelle Crowe, Emily Crowe,

BEST OF LUCK: To our Senior Ladies Team who play Ballylanders in the Munster Intermediate Club Championship Qualifier on Saturday the 19th. Venue and time to be confirmed.

NA GAEIL U14:Due to the bad weather we had to postpone our match against Listowel last Friday – new date yet to be decided.

Our next match in the N. Kerry league is at home to John Mitchels, hopefully the weather won’t impact the fixture.  It is a busy time for the girls and their families with school back in full swing and winter sports kicking off.

Hopefully, we can field our best teams for the remaining games and finish the season on a high.  Also, good luck to all taking part in the Kerry U13 development squads – the blitz in Mallow at end of October is always a great event.

NA GAEIL U13:The Lee Strand sponsored tournament took place in Connolly Park last Saturday.

This well run competition brought some of the best U13 teams in the country and Na Gaeil had to play probably the three best of these teams on the day. First up was the mighty Nemo Rangers of Cork and did our boys give an exhibition of technical ability, kick passing, support running and teamwork.

Devon Burns was our scorer in chief scoring 3-02. (Final score Na Gaeil 4-11 Nemo Rangers 2-06). Our second game was against Ballyboden/St. Endas, the nightly Dublin powerhouse club.

Again like the first game all our players were excellent and it just shows what talent these players have. Our tormented in chief on this occasion was Graham Sheehy scoring 2-02. (Final score Na Gaeil 2-06 Ballyboen 1-03). This result put us into the div 1 cup semifinal where we played last years champions Salthill/Knockacrra.

This was a tough challenge against a full u13 team and after our first 2 tough games we found the going tough in the first half and down by 12.

As always though this group of lads came out with full vigorous and spirit and kept the opposition scoreless in the second half which was a great way to finish the game with heart determination and never give up attitude.

Final score Na Gaeil 1-03 Salthill 2-06. Brilliant performances by all lads and just shows we can match the best teams in the country.

Well Done lads.: Osin Mansuall, Cian Devine, Tadgh Reen, Scott Ryan, Enda O Connor, Devon Burns, Liam og Kingston, Jack Sheehan, Thomas Hanifin, Jack Bourke, Jimmy O Sullivan, Mathew Burke, Tadgh Horgan, Tom Walsh, Peter Walsh, Graham Sheehy, Jamie Fitzgerald, Edward Sheehy,
