U14 girls: Hard luck to the U14 girls as they lost to Abbeydorney last week. Hopefully they’ll have better luck tomorrow, Monday, when they host Listowel Emmets.

U9 boys: Our under 9s headed to Listowel last Sunday morning and enjoyed a great morning of football. We fielded 3 teams and the boys played very well for all of their matches. Thanks to Listowel for hosting us and we look forward to them visiting us before the end of the season.

U11 boys: Fantastic performance by both u11 teams last Thursday night against Kerins O’Rahillys with some wonderful football played. The Younger group played glorious football at times. Still a few things they can brush up on, like marking but it’s next year it will benefit them by playing together and getting used to each other.

Special mention to William, Harry and Jimmy who all took turns in goals. Also want to thank all the parents for taking photos and bringing in the flags and goals. Thank ye all.

U13 boys (White team): Na Gaeil White team played Legion last Sunday evening and it was a very tough contest with every score having to be fought hard for. Na Gaeil had a great start with two early points and unlucky not to follow it up with a goal.

Legion responded well with two points of their own and then nettted to go a goal up. Legion had some great movement and got some early goals to create a good lead. Our boys battled away and picked off some great points and also a goal and went in 7 points down at halftime. The second half saw Na Gaeil win the throw in and resulted in a great point.

It was full pace for all the second half with both teams showing fierce determination and work rate. Na Gaeil’s defence worked really hard to try and curtail an impressive Legion forward line and did themselves proud. Midfield and Forwards were outstanding also and worked some brilliant scores and created loads of opportunities.

Our goalie was great and showed great hands with solid catches and some fine saves. Final score was Na Gaeil 3-11and Legion 5-18.

U13 boys (Green team): In blustery conditions Na Gaeil Green team took on Milltown/Castlemaine. Na Gaeilstarted with the aid of the wind. A bright start saw Andy Costello & Eoin Hannon open the scoring.

As Na Gaeil kept the hosts pinned in, Jonathan Sheehy unleashed his left boot for a rocket of a goal. Aaron O’Donovan and Ethan Doyle with a touch of magic had Na Gaeil 1-10 to 1-2 up a half time. The second half was always going to be a different game and the hosts really upped the ante.

Despite heroic defending from Ruadh O’Brien, Fionán Collins & Eoin Behan M’town C’maine heaped on the pressure and had the scores level with 4 minutes to go. With all the momentum with the hosts, Ben O’Sullivan through two fine saves and excellent kickouts set the key score in motion.

Jake Barrett won the kick-out, delivered the ball to Eoghan Daly on the right wing who found O’Donovan who finished the ball to the net to the delight of the travelling support. This inspired the Na Gaeil men to finish the game with two more points. Philip Doyle anchored the team from centre back, while Luca Cronin and James Kelly worked tirelessly in the half forward line.

Kieran Feely and Rory John O’Brien were always a threat. Well done to all the players and thanks to the parents for the continued support. Final score; Na Gaeil 2-14 Milltown Castlemaine 2-9. Team; Ben O’Sullivan; Eoin Behan, Fionán Collins, Ruadh O’Brien; Ethan Doyle, Philip Doyle, Jake Barrett; Andy Costello, Aaron O’Donovan; Luca Cronin, James Kelly, Eoghan Daly, Kieran Feely, Eoin Hannon, Jonathan Sheehy; Rory John O’Brien
