Congratulations: Sunday July 24th 2022 will go down in the history books as the day that Kerry won their 38th senior All-Ireland title.

However for Na Gaeil people at home and abroad it will forever be remembered as an unbelievable occasion with three of our own clubmen playing a huge part in it. Diarmuid, Jack and Stefan have created history by winning for themselves the first senior GAA All-Ireland medals ever won by Na Gaeil players.

What can we say about these 3 lads other than all 3 of them are fantastic role models for our young players and they deserved their win yesterday.

We are so proud of them and delighted that their hard work and sacrifices over the past few years have finally been rewarded. What an incredibly special day for Na Gaeil club.

Ladies: Good luck to Mary O’Connell & the Kerry Ladies team who take on defending champions Meath next Sunday July 31st in the senior All-Ireland final. Its their first final since 2012 & they are hoping to bridge a 29 year gap since Kerry last won the title in 1993.

Community Games U10 football: Last Wednesday night our St. Brendan’s Oakpark U10 football team got the better of Castleisland by 2 point, after extra time, to win the County Final. Well done to everyone associated with the team, especially the Na Gaeil boys involved.

U11 boys: What a wonderful day we had in Fitzgerald Stadium in Munster U11 Blitz. We performed excellently in all 3 of our games and after it finished all the lads got a tour of the stadium with former Kerry captain Fionn Fitzgerald. We want to thank all the parents who came to support the lads and to Bernie for providing the photos. Also a word of thanks to John and Mick for entering us in it.

U15 boys: Last Wednesday night, July 20th, our u15s hosted Annascaul/Lispole in their second game of the Kellihers Toyota Central Region competition. We were missing a number of players who were away on holidays and a few lads who were gone to the Gaeltacht so we were delighted to get 8 lads from the u13 team. Annascaul/Lispole opened the scoring with a point which was cancelled out by a fine point from Dara Callaghan. 3 further points from Liam Cooper, Dara Morris and Danny Kingston left Na Gaeil ahead by 4 points to 1 after 10 minutes. Annascaul/Lispole added a point to keep them in touch but Danny Kingston added 1-1 along with a point from our centre-forward Brian Heaphy to put Na Gaeil ahead by 7 points.

Again Annascaul/Lispole added a point but another goal by Danny Kingston stretched our lead to 9 points with 10 minutes remaining in the first half. Both teams added 3 points each before a goal from a penalty for Annascaul/Lispole reduced our lead at halftime to 6 points. An early second half point for Annascaul/Lispole narrowed the gap to 5 points but Na Gaeil replied with one of their own.

Then came Annascaul /Lispole’s second goal and for a few moments the game was in the melting pot with us leading by 2-10 to 2-7. But that was as close as it got and Na Gaeil added points from Liam Cooper (2), Daragh Morris, Danny Kingston (2), Jacob Dryzmala, Jake Coffey and Brian Heaphy to run out comfortable winners on a final score of Na Gaeil 2-18, Annascaul/Lispole 2-9.

We have 2 back-games to refix in this competition so we may have a game next week against Ardfert. Team: Iarla Hanafin, Jack Kelly, Jeaic Canty, Karl Cronin, Gearóid Moynihan, Ruadhan Clifford, Cillian Griffin, Daragh Morris, Liam Cooper, Jake Coffey, Brian Heaphy, Daragh Callaghan, Philip McEneaney, Danny Kingston, Ruairí Lacey, Jacob Dryzmala, Maurice Costello & David Buckley.
