Retirement: We would like to wish Jackie Carlos all the best in her future endeavours. Jackie stepped up after Seán O Connor retired and she seamlessly took an all tasks associated with the running of our clubhouse.

She brought our club bar through Covid very successfully, providing a great service to our patrons. Jackie was very proactive in her job as bar manager and we are indebted to her for keeping our clubhouse going for the last couple of years.

I’m sure she will continue to be a familiar face around the club and will still be on hand to give a helping hand when needed. Thanks again Jackie.

Race Night Launch: We will be holding our annual Race Night in the clubhouse on Friday Nov 11th. We will be holding a launch for the event next Wednesday night, Oct 5th, at 7.30pm in our clubhouse.

The Sam Maguire cup will be present (at the launch) along with our Kerry heroes so there will be plenty opportunities for photos. Everyone is welcome.

Scór: Best of luck to our Scór Sinsear competitors, who’ll represent Na Gaeil at the County Final which will be held in Currow on Friday the 7th October. Performing “Forward Thinking”, a 10 minute drama from the pen of our very own Mary Quirke are Helen Sugrue, Sorcha Uí Suilleabháin, Noelle Kingston, Paul Fitzgibbon, Martin Grealish, Mary Reen and Colm Ó Suilleabháin. Mary Ellen O Connor is our representative in the Solo Singing & Helen Sugrue will compete in the Aithriseoracht (recitation) competition.

Hospice Coffee Morning: The Hospice Coffee Morning & bake sale, which was held in the clubhouse on Sunday the 25th September was a massive success. A total of €1,255 was raised for this worthy cause. Thanks so much to everyone who supported it – the bakers & buyers, and of course Jackie & Na Gaeil staff & management who are always so good to us. See you all again in September 2023!!!

Senior men’s fixture: Next up for our senior mens team is the 1st round of the Lee Strand sponsored Tralee/St. Brendans District championship. Our lads will host St Pats Blennerville next Saturday Oct. 8th at 3pm.

U14 girls: Tonight (Monday) our u14 girls will host Austin Stacks in the North Kerry Shield final at 6pm. Your support would be greatly appreciated.

U9 boys: Well done to our under 9s who made it all the way to the final in the Milltown / Castlemaine blitz which was held yesterday. A fantastically organised event!

U13 boys:  Our u13s played John Mitchel in the Division 1 Town League final last Sunday in Kerins O’Rahillys. It was a great occasion where yet again the football didn’t disappoint.

The first 10 minutes was nip and tuck but our lads seemed to handle things better and went in 2-7 to 0-7 up at halftime.

The second half was more of the same with Mitchels battling hard but our lads work rate stood to them where they got hard earned scores and finished up worthy winners on a scoreline of 2-17 to 1-11. Man of the match was Danny Kingston who scored 11 points to help his team get over the line.

This year will also include an Auction for a signed Kerry Jersey. Highlight of the night will be the “The Na Gaeil Gold Cup” with a top prize of €1,000 to the winner.
