Indoor Training 2023: Our juveniles are planning to start training for the 2023 season in the MTU on Sunday 22nd January.

Review of our u17 boys season: From our first game of the year, a challenge game against a strong Keel/Listry side, our boys fought hard in every match to ensure that pride in the Green and White jersey was upheld.

Despite difficult county league and Central Region campaigns our lads rallied in the inaugural club championship, where we advanced to the final against a strong Knocknagoshel/Brosna side.

Our lads put up a very gallant display but ultimately lost. In the Town Board competition we defeated a Kerins O’Rahillys/St. Pats combination in the semi-final but lost out to John Mitchels in the final.

The team this year was captained by Kian Sheehan, Paul Burke and Shane Kelly throughout the year and we were also represented by Peter Doyle who was part of the Kerry u16 development squad that won the All-Ireland.

Review of our Mens Senior team’s season: Having won the Kerry and Munster Intermediate club titles in 2021 Na Gaeil went on to play Steelstown Brian Ógs of Derry in the All-Ireland semi-final at the Connacht Centre of Excellence on January 29th 2022.

Unfortunately the game didn’t go as we had hoped and our run in the All-Ireland Intermediate Championship came to an end.

Next up for our lads was the County League which began in March. We were in a highly competitive Division 2 and did really well to retain our place in that Division for next season again.

August was an historic month for the club as it saw us take our place in the County Senior Club Championship for the very first time. Our lads had a great win against Kenmare Shamrocks in round 1 before losing close games to Spa and Dingle. However it was enough to ensure that Na Gaeil maintained its Senior status for 2023.

Then in September our lads made their debut in the Senior County Championship. Again we were very competitive losing narrowly to both Austin Stacks and Mid Kerry before a well-deserved win against West Kerry in Gallarus. Roll on 2023!
