THE weather stayed kind on Sunday morning as a fine crowd gathered to take part in the Bill Kirby Memorial Walk in aid of the Kerry Hospice Foundation.
The walk, which is organised every year by Michael ‘Fox’ O’Connor, had to be cancelled last year due to COVID restrictions, but the tradition resumed on St Stephen’s Day and it saw people of all ages set off on the route.
They departed from the Brogue Inn at 11.30am, setting off up Rock Street and Monavalley, over to the Bracker Regan Road, down Caherslee then back to The Rock through Pembroke Street.

After the walk, there were hot drinks back outside the Brogue Inn, compliments of the Kirby/Cotter family.
The walk has raised hundreds of thousands of euro for charity ever since it began as a fundraiser for the Irish Cancer Society back in 1999. Since 2006, all money raised has gone to the Kerry Hospice. Scroll down for photos…
