STORM Gareth is on the way and with it comes the usual weather warnings from Met Eireann.

A Status Yellow Rainfall warning will take effect in Kerry from 6pm this evening until 6am on Tuesday (although it should probably should have taken effect earlier judging by the way the rain has been lashing in Tralee since just after 3pm today!)

This heavy rain will be followed by squally showers leading to the risk of rainfall accumulations of around 25mm.

Then at noon tomorrow, a Status Yellow Wind warning is in effect for all of Ireland. Westerly winds will reach mean speeds of 50 to 65km/h and gusts of 90 to 110km. There is a risk of coastal flooding due to high seas along Atlantic coasts. The warning is valid until 12 noon on Wednesday.
