MET Éireann has issued a Status Yellow  Low Temperature/Ice warning for Ireland.

Temperatures will fall to minus 3 or 4 degrees tonight, colder locally away from coasts. This will lead to a widespread hard ground frost and icy surfaces, with potentially dangerous conditions.

The warning is valid from 6pm on Saturday to 10am on Sunday. The warning comes as local gardaí advised caution on the roads due to black ice overnight.

A man suffered serious injuries in single-vehicle collision near O’Riada’s bar, Ballymacelligott and the stretch of road between Ballycarty Roundabout and the Castleisland Bypass was closed with diversions put in place.
