HAVE you or someone you know any stories to tell about the Boherbee/Mitchels area?

Do you have family, friends or old neighbours returning home over this coming summer?

Well the people from the Mitchels Regeneration Project are producing their 5th ‘Memories of the Mitchels CD’ and their 10th anniversary calendar and would love to get photos or hear the stories of those who left the area and family and friends who may have stayed.

Continued below…

.

They wish to record the stories of those who emigrated from the Mitchels Boherbee area and record their memories of the past – those who moved to England, America, Cork or Dublin or even just over to the next parish!

If you now live full time in another country, or emigrated and returned, they would love to hear your story.

You don’t have to be an emigrant to participate in the CD and calendar – anyone who would like to share their memories are most welcome.

They are interested in hearing the stories of those who worked in the local construction sites, trades, in the many factories and shops such as The Boot Factory, CWS/Dennys, McCowens, Latchfords  etc – indeed any work history of the area .

If you wish to become involved or know someone who would like to share their story you can ring Paula on 087 7697243 or e-mail infomitchelsboherbee@gmail.com.

Stories and pictures need to be in by the end of August. All photographs will be scanned and handed straight back.
