IT was a day when the community came together to remember a much-loved Blennerville man and on Thursday the funds raised at the Tony O’Donoghue Walk were presented to Kerry Hospice Foundation.

Around 200 people came out in the sunshine on Saturday, September 7, to walk from then Windmill, out to Locke gates and back via Lohercannon.

Tony’s daughter Andrea was on hand at the Palliative Care Unit at UHK to present €2,425.

“It was a fabulous day and I’m delighted such an amount was raised. I want to thank everyone who came and especially the Moriarty family from Marian Park for their generous donation,” said Andrea.

The walk was started by St Pat’s football club a few weeks after Tony passed away five years ago to pay tribute to his contribution to the club which extended to 50 years both as a player and in the management team.
