Bertie Brosnan in ‘Con’.

‘CON’, a feature film produced by a Tralee native, is now available internationally on Vimeo On Demand while its creator is off to Cannes in May where distributors are currently previewing the movie.

Bertie Brosnan will attend the festival with the purpose of selling Con and also gather contacts and hopefully pre-sales for his other project, “Misty Button” by Tralee native Seanie Sugrue, who is residing in the United States.

Con is available to rent or buy on Vimeo On Demand here.

Bertie Brosnan wrote, produced, directed, starred and co-edited Con while Brian O’Connor shot and edited the film.

Director, Bertie says: “It was a wonderful experience creating this film, the budget was only €7,000 but I was able to harness the creative powers of the small crew and the wonderfully talented cast. Shooting in my hometown of Tralee has proved to be effective on two occasions now. Sineater is already distributed worldwide, that film was shot wholly in Tralee and now Con will be available to the mass-marketplace.”

Con follows a relatively successful filmmaker and actor as he leaves rehab to join a documentary film about him being reunited with his estranged father after 25 years.

But, with emotions running high and different agendas on the table, things don’t exactly go according to plan.

Starring in the film are Owen Barton, Jean Law, Michael O’ Sullivan, Cristina Ryan, Tadhg Hickey, Laura O’ Shea, Aidan Jordan and Bertie Brosnan.

Bertie Brosnan’s films have been acclaimed and selected at international film festivals and markets such as ‘Cork Film Festival’, ‘Fastnet Film Festival’, ‘Kerry Film Festival’, ‘Cannes Short Film Corner’, ‘Hollywood North Film Festival’, and much more.
