A TRALEE site has been purchased by a large supermarket chain for a price believed to exceed €1m.

The former Heiton Buckley premises, accessible by Edward Street and located behind the Centrepoint building on John Joe Sheehy Road/Edward Street, which closed down back in 2006, has 3.2 acres of space available, with the retail unit there comprising of over 2,000 square metres altogether.

The site was originally part of the McCowen business in town years ago. Heiton Buckley moved from the site back in 2007 to its current premises in Clash Industrial Estate.

The site came on the market at a €650,000 guide price from the selling agent REA North in Denny Street, but it’s believed it has realised in excess of €1m.
