THE number of people on the live register in Tralee increased in the month of February and is at its highest since August last year.
Figures from the Central Statistics Office for February show the amount of people signing on in Tralee (including Castleisland) is now 5,644.
That number is an increase of 72 on January’s total of 5,572.
Across Kerry, the Live Register has increased for the fifth consecutive month with 13,851 now signing on.
Over the last six months in Tralee the amount of people on the live register has been fluctuating, generally hovering around the 5,500 mark.
The unemployment rate nationally is now 10.1%.
